I am running for the seat presently held by Lynn Kessler. The 24th consists of Clallam and Jefferson Counties and a part of Grays Harbor County. Lynn has represented our 24th Legislative District with remarkable wisdom and energy for 18 years. She served as Democratic Majority Leader in the House and has given a powerful voice to the concerns and needs of the North Olympic Peninsula. I cannot begin to fill Lynn's shoes, but I am proud to follow in her footsteps.

Steve Tharinger is serving his third term as Clallam County Commissioner representing the first district. He has oversight responsibilities for five county departments--Health & Human Services, Community Development, Treasurer, Assessor and Cooperative Extension.

He received the Clallam County Community Service Award in recognition of his long-standing community involvement.
